Crow-Quill
Studios is your source for Multimedia and Web design. We provide outstanding
service and quality for all of your marketing and corporate communication
needs including interactive CD-ROM and Web Design & Production. Our business
focus is based on the principle that communication should be designed to influence your
targeted audience into action. Our designers deliver on that promise and our
programers work in a variety of programs and languages
including C++, Director, HTML, JAVA, Dynamic HTML, PERL and Shockwave for
either the Mac or the PC. Multimedia and web sites offer a
unique way to communicate directly with your
customers. The integration of time, space,
movement engages the viewer. This interaction allows an opportunity
to present your message in ways that paper and ink cannot. Whenever you are
considering a new web site or an interactive CD-ROM, let Crow-Quill take it
from concept to completed package. Dynamic HTML
offers some very cost effective alternatives in CD production. We would be
pleased to discuss it with you. Check out our multimedia page; it has
links to some sites we have designed and produced, as well as other sites
that we feel are also using the medium effectively. Scroll down to view some of the sample pages of our
web sites and CDs. Links are provided to most of the sites.

Client: Seaweed Systems
Project: This is a simple and very cost effective web site. We just completed the design, programming and it is ready to go. Seaweed Systems is a specialized software developer and they required only a small site to promote their programing services and software products. It consists of five pages the "introductory or home" page, top screen, a "who we are and what we do" page, a "product" page with the five products described, shown in the lower screen, a "contacts" page and a "links" page. It is a simple site but carries a strong visual identity for the company. The message is clear and a potenial client quickly understands who they are, the products offered and how to contact them. We also designed their corporate identity program. Please check back and we will provide the URL link when the address is available.
Client: R.Stephen Bevitt

This site was also done in multiple languages:English, German and French. Crow-Quill can provide translation services in as many languages as you require.
Client: TCSI
Project: Intranet web site, sorry for TCSI employees only, the URL is not available. However, if you would like to review an interactive version created as a demo, it's available on a disc. It does not contain any sensitive company information. The demo was completed prior to the HTML programing and is used to demonstrates the major links, allows navigation and presents the style of graphics on all the main, sub-menus and text pages. We use demos to test the site with employees and/or customers to detect potential problems, weaknesses and to provide essential market research. With this kind market understanding Crow-Quill makes the site more effective, saving time and money. One of the major requirements for TCSI was ease of navigation and it is easy. With over 1000 + pages on the complete site you can be anywhere within three clicks from anywhere on the site. This telecommunication software developer also wanted it to be fun for their employees! Use the Request/Reply Form to request the TCSI demo disc. To view sample Concept Pages developed at the early design stage click Here.

Design Process: Return to Top of Page
A web site that really works for the client is not an accident it is researched, planned and designed to be that way. It is out of this understanding that great sites are created by designers who understand communication, who know how to solve problems, who fully understand the needs of the client and the requirements of the medium. Crow-Quill, with our years of experience, has developed an effective process to consistently achieve great sites which work hard for our clients.
Project -- We begin with an understanding of the project by defining its goals and the strategic requirements. We then determine how to to proceed by determining who will be responsible for which portions of the project. We develope research on your existing and potenial customer base and your employees. This provides us with insight, an understanding of how the user base will utilize the site and what they want from their on-line experience. Once we understand the users' needs, we determine the necessary media and software required. The production aspect is planned, navigation determined and a site map is then developed.
Concept Pages -- The Crow-Quill team creates a set of Concept Pages which reflect the information gathered in step one (Project). This represents several different approaches to the project in three to four different styles. Simple programming is provided at this stage to demonstrate functionality and navigation. The client reviews the three Concept Pages and provides input and, if required, a fourth concept will be generated incorporating the input supplied by the client. It is important that anyone who has veto power over the web project review and provide input at this stage. This saves time, money and assures a successful completion of the project. (See Concept Pages for the TCSI intranet site.)
The Demo -- Once a concept is selected, a direction is determined for the look and feel of the web site and we prepare a demonstration version. This includes the development and production of additional graphics, more pages, format grids or templates. The main menu, sub-menus and text pages are refined or created. Then more programming to demonstrate key pages, links and perhaps a sample form, to provide a clear indication of functionality. The site is now interactive and the Demo can be placed on a server. Testing of the site and additional refinements are made. We also can use the Demo to test-market the site with current and potential clients and employees to measure their reactions to the graphics, functionality and user friendliness. We can further incorporate changes learned from these hands on reactions. (The Demo of the TCSI site is available on disc,to request the demo go to Request/Reply.)
Launch -- After the demo is revised and finally approved, we Launch the site. This requires completion of the pages, forms and final programming. Once the site is fully functioning on the internet or intranet, we are available for consultation in an ongoing basis to provide whatever support you may require.

TCSI - A telecommunication software developer
Crow-Quill Studios developed several concepts for TCSI's intranet site the final version is shown enlarged above. The sample pages below represent the diversity of our approach. The upper left Concept was selected and the design further refined (Click to see final version above or to return to Sample Pages). You may have noticed that the button configuration was changed from the concept to the finished site as a result of employee testing and client input. Understanding the problem, defining the users' needs combined with outstanding design makes for a successful site which works hard for our client.
As you can see there is quite a range of "looks" and they all fall within the design criteria. TCSI wanted the site to have a "Fun" appearance to encourage their employees to use the site. When you are looking for intelligent design and creative solutions call Crow-Quill Studios. We will provide an outstanding product at a competitive price.
